Focus is about what we are being coerced into paying attention to and what we are being diverted from. Do we still have the capacity to look at the bigger picture?

The Vacancy Series shows empty Melbourne shopfronts. These vacant premises seem to have taken on new, unexpected lives of their own, being occupied with shadows, reflections, new growth, new occupants, natural phenomena or obsolete objects. The works were created using drypoint and etching techniques, with a focus on strong lines and composition.
